Taking Stills with a Go Pro

After my last post about using the Go Pro at the dog park I started thinking how I could use this to take still images? We always send out holiday cards and I decided this year we would use pictures from the dog park.

Before buying the Go Pro, pulling stills from video didn’t result in the best quality pictures. Especially if you are like me and try to do everything the hard way, rather than buying expensive software for something you rarely use.

After doing a quick google search I found a youtube video that explains how to pull high-resolution images right from your raw go pro video capture.

We went back to Bill Archer Dog Park armed with new knowledge and a tripod/selfie stick that Bob purchased for me. We were able to grab some really cute footage of the dogs peering into the camera. Then we all sat in one of the pavilions and took maybe a minutes worth of footage to get a good picture of the four of us. I have to say this was SO much easier than trying to set a timer or fiddle with a remote.

So with very little effort we were able to capture individual shots of the dogs and a shot with 2 adults and 2 dogs. The end result was a really cute holiday card everyone will love:
